Vanessa Orozco

Vanessa joined Centro Legal de la Raza as an Immigration Legal Assistant and focuses on deportation defense for children and families. Before joining Centro Legal, Vanessa worked as a case coordinator at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, a global firm focused on meeting the immigration challenges of corporate clients.

She received her B.A. in Sociology and Latin America and Latinxs Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. During her time in undergrad, she volunteered at the Santa Cruz County Immigration Project (SCCIP) in Watsonville, California where she helped prepare forms for adjustment of status cases, applications for permanent residence, relative visa petitions, and replacement/renewal of green cards and work permits.

As an Oakland native, Vanessa enjoys working in her hometown where she is committed to continue working with the immigrant community in order to protect their rights.
