IMMIGRANTS’ RIGHTS GROUP
As a legal assistant for the Immigrant Rights Youth Team at Centro Legal, Gaby works primarily with unaccompanied minors seeking asylum, special immigrant juvenile status and other forms of relief from deportation before the Immigration Court and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.
Prior to joining Centro Legal, Gaby interned with La Raza Centro Legal where she learned that she loved direct legal services because it allows her to connect with clients. In law school, she worked with unaccompanied children seeking asylum and special immigrant juvenile status at the USF Immigration & Deportation Defense Clinic. Gaby co-created a “Know Your Rights” presentation for immigrant children at the USF Immigration Law & Policy Clinic, and represented a client before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Gaby’s passion for immigrants’ rights stems from her own experience as child of immigrant parents from Chile. Gaby is a Juris Doctor Candidate from University of San Francisco, School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Global and International Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
