Gillian Quandt

Medical-Legal Partnership Attorney

As the Medical-Legal Partnership Attorney, Gillian works hand-in-hand with medical providers, social workers, and Health Advocates at Highland Hospital and Hayward Wellness to provide legal services to patients. Gillian fights to keep tenants in safe and stable housing through representing tenants facing eviction, bad habitability conditions, and unlawful rent increases, and advocates for workers’ rights through representing workers who have suffered from wage theft, discrimination, and retaliation. Gillian founded Centro Legal’s Medical-Legal Partnership with Alameda Health System as a Skadden Fellow.

Gillian graduated from Yale Law School, where she worked on asylum and refugee resettlement cases and advocated for sentencing reform in the Connecticut criminal justice system. Prior to law school, she was the Director of Development at la Asociación Civil por la Igualdad y la Justicia, a human rights NGO in Argentina. She also was a legal assistant to attorneys representing victims of the Khmer Rouge before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia and taught at various universities in Chile.

Gillian previously was a Luce Scholar and a Fulbright grantee. She received her B.A. in English and M.A. in Latin American Studies from Stanford University.
