Andrea Herrera joined Centro Legal in September 2016 as an Immigration Paralegal. Andrea received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Latin American/US Latino Studies in May 2016 from the University of the Pacific in her hometown of Stockton, CA. Most of her undergraduate research focused on immigration laws and patterns in the United States. While in college, Andrea was a Policy Intern at MALDEF in Sacramento, CA. There she focused on immigrant and Latino rights at the state level by doing research for bill proposals under the supervision of the Legislative Staff Attorney. In college, Andrea also worked at the University of the Pacific Latino Community Outreach office where she focused on recruitment and retention of Latino students and community events centered around immigrant rights and higher education. Andrea’s parents are both Salvadoran immigrants, which stems her passion for working with immigrant communities. She is thrilled to be working with such a passionate and dedicated team that strives to advance immigrant justice.
